This piece was a part of my very first juried art show as an adult at the Lenora Rolla Heritage Museum. I created this one as well as my Frederick Douglas and Nelson Mandela pieces (both sold) for this show and won 1st place for charcoal pencil. This portrait was also monumental for me- it was when I realized my true potential as a hyperrealistic artist. I had taken my skills to a whole new level that I didn't even know I could reach.
