The Fat Squirrel,  Colored Pencil Print
As I was creating this portrait, many of the people who saw me working on it said "Wow, that is one fat squirrel", and unknowingly titled this. This little guy lives in Balboa Park, San Diego, and is likely absolutely spoiled.
When I captured the original photo of him, the sun was highlighting just his eye, and I immediately knew I needed to draw him. 
 
This portrait is the first drawing I've made that is a combination of hyperrealism and abstract expressionism. This will be a part of a nature series I am working on, zooming in to highlight the beauty in the little things around us that we may normally miss.
