THE MARVIN GAYE PROJECT

3 ft by 4.5ft Charcoal Portrait

JUNE 11, 2017

"Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
what's going on"

Besides being one of my favorite artists, Marvin Gaye is such an inspiration to me. He sung about what he truly felt, even though his producers didn't want him to. He sung about God and addressed the things wrong in the world. His words are still so relevant and true. They didn't want him to sing about the truth but he did anyway.

This is the biggest portrait I've drawn yet! It took me 2 months to complete, a total of about 40 hours. It was overwhelming to start and required so many little lines but after I made this I realized the sky is the limit.
